Description

One  of  the  segments  in  the  harmonisation  of  Slovenian  legislation  before  accession  to  European  Union  were  Regulations  in  the  field  of  radiation  protection.  As  a  part  of  this  process,  new  Regulation  regarding  radiation  protection  training  has  been  approved,  replacing  the  old  one  approved  at  the  time  of  the  commencement  of  Krsko  NPP.  The  intention  of  the  old  Regulation  was  to  make  legal  training  for  radiation  protection  officers  and  NPP  staff,  which  has  been  already  developed  and  under  implementation  at  the  time.  Training  for  other  groups  of  occupationally  exposed  workers  was  regulated  just  in  duration  and  the  re-sponsibility  for  contents  and  implementation  has  been  transferred  to  two  authorised  organisations.
New  Regulation  requires  that  organisations  implementing  training,  as  well  as  programs,  should  be  verified.  New  and  very  detail  programs  have  been  approved,  requiring  development  of  new  courses  and  materials  for  training.  New  and  increased  number  of  courses  requires  in-volvement  of  additional  funds  and  human  resources.  Consequently,  implementation  of  radiation  protection  training  has  become  more  complicated  and  expensive.  Additional  problem  is  limited  size  of  professional  community.  To  overcome  and  minimize  influence  of  these  problems,  we  have  started  with  the  introduction  of  new  methods  and  training  technologies.
