The Technical University of Madrid or sometimes called Polytechnic University of Madrid was founded in 1971 as the result of merging different Technical Schools of Engineering and Architecture, originated mainly during the reign of Carlos the Third in the 18th century. During these years the Schools were practically the only ones in Spain linked to the teaching of Architecture and Engineering. For this reason it is no exaggeration to state that a large part of the history of Spanish technology has been written by the Schools of Engineering and Architecture.Today the Technical University of Madrid together with its Engineering Schools belongs to the top universities in Europe.

The Faculty of Industrial Engineering (address Calle José Gutiérrez Abascal, 2, Madrid) offers a unique venue for the conferences, with possibility of visit the e.g. James Watt’s steam engine. The faculty is located in the center of Madrid, only 15 minutes from the airport, surrounded by many parks, in the walking distance to various accommodations’ possibilities and for the football fans only few steps from the Real Madrid Stadium. The closest Metro station is Gregorio Marañó.
