n-dodecane, C₁₂H₂₆, melting point -9.6 °C, boiling point 216.3 °C, density 0.7493 g/cm³. Dodecane is a hydrocarbon (alkane), suitable as solvent to dilute TBP in the extraction of U and Pu from irradiated nuclear fuel. (See aklso 'PUREX process')
