RRFM/IGORR 2016

13 - 17 March 2016 in Berlin, Germany

Technical Tour

On Thursday 17 March two technical tours are planned for delegates of the RRFM/IGORR 2016 conference:

All available places for the Technical Visits have been taken. It is currently not possible anymore to register for Technical Visits.

Technical Tour to the Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin

The Helmholtz Zentrum Berlin operates two scientific large-scale facilities for research on the structure and function of matter: research reactor BER II for neutron experiments and synchrotron radiation source BESSY II, which generates highly brilliant synchrotron radiation from the terahertz to the X-ray spectrum. Both facilities are equipped with highly specialized sample environments. Experiments can be performed under the most sophisticated conditions like high magnetic fields, extremely low temperatures, or high pressures. The instruments’ continued refinement at the two large-scale facilities is one the Center’s main jobs.

The tour will focus on the Lise-Meitner-Campus and the Neutron Scattering Experiments at the BER II Research Reactor.

The campus shows the idea of the intelligent city of tomorrow. The guide will present the history and vision of the campus and its different topics: mobility, energy and green buildings.

Schneider Electric

Schneider Electric has developed world-leading capabilities to manage the full life cycle of energy and industrial needs. Participants of the RRFM Technical Tour will meet the specialists for energy management and automation of Schneider Electric who supplied the technology for the Micro Smart Grid and other intelligent E-house-Equipment on the EUREF-campus. www.schneider-electric.com
