ENC 2010

European Nuclear Conference

30 May - 2 June 2010, Barcelona, Spain

Venue

In a privileged position on the north-eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula and the shores of the Mediterranean, Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain both in size and population.

Venue

The capital of Catalonia is unequivocally a Mediterranean city, not only because of its geographic location but also and above all because of its history, tradition and cultural influences. The documented history of the city dates back to the founding of a Roman colony on its soil in the second century B.C.

Barcelona, more than just a single city, is really a collection of multi-faceted and diverse cities. The Barri Gotic (Gothic Quarter) is the centre of the old city of Barcelona. Modern Barcelona experienced spectacular growth and economic revival at the onset of industrialization during the second half of the 19th century, culminating in its landmark Eixample district, which showcases some of Barcelona’s most distinctive art-nouveau buildings. World famous landmarks are Casa Mila, Casa Batllo and the Sagrada Familia church.

Fabulous architecture, brilliant Spanish cuisine, flamboyant culture and wonderful weather combine to make Barcelona a truly magnificent city. Barcelona is easily accessible from anywhere in Europe with excellent air and rail links.

Palau de Congressos de Catalunya – Catalonia Palace of Congresses

Palau de Congressos de Catalunya

Located in the finanical and business nerve center of Barcelona, the Diagonal Avenue, the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I Business & City Resort is set in one of the most beautiful gardens in the city. An icon of the complex is the Catalonia Palace of Congresses, a modern structure offering the highest technology equipment and a maximum comfort.

The Palace is composed by different buildings grouped together which lend emphasis to its characteristic design. The main feature is the natural lightness that shines through its many lounges and makes the Palace an ideal place for hosting ENC 2010.

Technical Sessions and the ENC 2010 Industry Exhibition will take place on level 0 and -1 of the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya.
