ENC 2016 Welcome Reception
On Sunday 9 October 2016 all delegates are invited to a Welcome Reception. This appreciated opportunity for a first get-together will be organised together with an ENC 2016 pre-registration facility.
ENC 2016 Conference Dinner
The ENC 2016 Conference Dinner will take place on Tuesday 11 October 2016 in the ‘Forteca’, a former fortress which is located in beautiful park of Traugutt.
The fortress was built between 1852 and 1854 on the southern foreland of the Warsaw Citadel. Its task was to guard the citadel from the side of New Town and also to defend the seasonal bridge over the Vistula River. It kept its role of control of the Vistula river bank for many years until it was privatized in 1999.
Ever since then this austere brick building with its slightly mysterious ambience has offered a wonderful setting for elegant events like the ENC 2016 conference dinner.

The tour in the footsteps of Maria Sklodowska Curie will start on Sunday, 9th Oct at 15:00 from the Hotel Sofitel Victoria and will take about an hour.
Additional post-conference visit: The unique visit to the Warsaw Filters
The Drinking Water Treatment Station, also known as „Warsaw Filters”, is the oldest and the largest water facility in Warsaw. It was constructed in 1886 and since that moment The Station has incessantly been delivering water for Warsaw citizens.
The Warsaw Filters were established thanks to the efforts of the Mayor of Warsaw - a Russian General Sokrates Starynkiewicz. The construction project of the facility was prepared in 1876 by an eminent British engineer – William Lindley.
The Warsaw Filters water station is one of few Warsaw’s facilities which were not completely destroyed during The Warsaw Uprising in 1944. The main buildings, designed by Lindley as a pressure tower, a pump station, a boiler house, slow filters and clean water reservoirs, survived World War II and some of them are working even today.
In 2012 The Warsaw Filters were declared a monument of history.
The visit in Warsaw Filters will be held on 13th October at 10:00 am and it will take 2 hours.
