Depth dose, relative

Term from radiology. Ratio of an absorbed dose in a
certain depth within the body to an absorbed dose at a reference point
of the body at the central ray. In the case of x-radiation or gamma
radiation, the localization of the reference point depends on the radiation
energy. For low energies it is at the surface, for high energies at
the point of the highest value of the absorbed dose.
