Versuchsatomkraftwerk (experimental nuclear power plant) Kahl/Main, boiling water reactor with an electric gross output of 16 MW. Nuclear commissioning took place on 13^th Nov. 1960. VAK was the first nuclear power plant in the Federal Republic of Germany. End of November 1985 it was finally put out of operation. On 24^th Sept 2010 decommissioning was completed. The cumulated power generation amounted to 2.1 TWh.
