The Slovenian Nuclear Society organises New Energy for New Europe conference
From 12 – 15 September 2011, the Slovenian Nuclear Society organised in Bovec, Western Slovenia, the twentieth edition of the international conference Nuclear Energy for New Europe. This general nuclear conference brought together 180 participants from 24 countries, as well as representatives from two international organisations. A total of 126 papers were presented, which prompted a lively and constructive debate on a range of subjects, including the accident at Fukushima, the stress tests, current and future reactor designs (including fusion reactors), the prospects for the production of sustainable energy on both a national and global level and on the role of nuclear energy in the 21st Century.
