The Hamburg Museum of Ethnology: A roof for all cultures

Can there be a better meeting place for RRFM 2008 than the “house of all cultures”? Having been founded more than 125 years ago, the Hamburg Museum of Ethnology is nowadays one of the largest ethnological museums in Europe treasuring mostly collections from Africa, America, Australia and Europe. This museum reflects the best Hamburg’s image of a cosmopolitan and diverse metropolis.

Conference Dinner

The Kultur- und Gewerbespeicher: Hamburg in its essence

The RRFM 2008 conference dinner will take place in the world’s largest preserved complex of traditional warehouses, located in the Free Port.

Experience the scent of the big, wide world right here – in the Speicherstadt, also called the “Venice of the North”!

Quite recently, this historical warehouse was used for storing exotic spices, noble rugs, tea and coffee. Extensively restored in 2004, it now offers a distinctive setting for all kinds of events with a genuine hanseatic atmosphere.

On Tuesday, 4 March 2008 the traditional storage house will open its gates for the RRFM 2008 conference dinner starting at 8:00 pm.

The highlight before the dinner:

Join in an idyllic boat cruise in sunset light and experience how Hamburg ’s port district is getting illuminated!

Various traditional barges will leave from the conference venue and bring you to the conference dinner.
