Visit of the exhibition ‘Rotterdam’s Culinary Secrets’ (Keukengeheimen van Rotterdam)
Before the dinner, RRFM delegates will have the possibility to visit the temporary exhibition of the Wereldmuseum:  ‘Rotterdam’s Culinary Secrets’.
Thanks to its long tradition of worldwide trade relations, Rotterdam enjoys a unique and divers food culture. Have you ever wondered how the tagine ended up in paintings from the Dutch Golden Age?
The exhibition reveals a wealth of culinary objects and stories that connect food cultures over time and distance, from Indonesia to South America, and from Rotterdam to Almeria in Spain. Ancient trade and spice routes reveal cultural interactions and the cultural innovations they inspired. A special narrative presents the culture of cooking, the role of food in our lives, global and Rotterdam-specific culinary secrets, and the social significance of sharing food.
Moroccan couscous, Ethiopian injera, Surinamese pom, French choucroute and Dutch hutspot: the Wereldmuseum invites visitors to go on a global culinary journey. Find out all about the origins of different spices and healthy meals and swap culinary secrets with your fellow delegates!
All RRFM social events are included in the registration fee.
Accompanying people are welcome to attend the Conference Dinner at an additional cost.
