PIME - Defining tomorrow's vision of nuclear energy

Venue and Hotels

Pime 2006 in Vienna

Vienna city of imperial palaces, of art and music, of coffee houses where the famous the Sachertorte is served, of Wiener Schnitzels and wine. Among the Austrian capital's most famous citizens are legendary musicians like Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Franz Schubert and Johann Strauss; psychoanalyst Siegmund Freud; the cult figure artist Gustav Klimt and of course, Empress Sissi. Situated on the banks of the Danube, Vienna is a lively, attractive and romantic city. There is plenty for visitors to see and to keep them busy for days on end. What's more, nature is never far away in Vienna, with he hills of the famous Wiener Wald (Viennese forest) and the Prater Park so close by.... a breath of fresh air that offers a welcome break from busy city life.

PIME will be in Vienna at a very significant moment in time because 2006 will be the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth. Born in Salzburg in 1756, the child prodigy Wolfgang Amadeus spent the last ten years of his life in Vienna.

For more information about Vienna, including the programme of events planned for the Mozart anniversary, contact the Vienna Tourist Board website at: www.info.wien.at/.
