Social ProgrammeNetworking is a major benefit of the RRFM conference, because the research reactor community is small and highly specialised. Welcome ReceptionThe Welcome Reception will take place on a cruise ship, taking a trip down the Rhône from the Congress Center to the confluent and back up the Saone along the Renaissance Quarters of Old Lyon. Seen from the water, the city of Lyon, with its exceptional cultural and architectural heritage, shows its best profile. Meet your fellow delegates and discover monuments, bridges and river activities of Lyon from an original angle! The welcome reception will take place on Sunday 11 March at 20.30.

Visit to the Beaujolais Region and AREVA DinnerAreva will be happy to welcome you for a visit and a dinner in the Beaujolais Region on Monday 12 March 2007. Beaujolais Nouveau is the most famous ambassador
of this wine region located at the north-west of Lyon. Conference
Delegates will visit ‘Le Hameau du Vin’ and its Wine
Park and savour a menu set in the tradition of the area. Buses will leave directly from the conference center at 18.00.
Conference DinnerRRFM/IGORR 2007 Conference Dinner will take place at the ‘Palais de Commerce’ which has been constructed in 1855 by the Lyonnais architect René Dardel. This classified historical building is also known for its sculptures and paintings in the interior. The RRFM/IGORR 2007 Conference Dinner will take place on Tuesday 13 March at 20.00.

‘traboules’ The Renaissance district, listed by the UNESCO, is the largest area of this kind in France. The tour enables you to see St. John's Cathedral, and then the Renaissance district itself with its narrow streets, inner courtyards and "traboules". Guided tour ‘ Silk Route’Tuesday 13 March 2007, 14.00 – 17.00 You will discover Lyon, the capital of silk and its covered passageways winding down the hill, through the inner courts of old buildings. These passageways tell the story of the Canuts silk workers of the 19th century and the industrialisation of silk production. Guided Tour ‘ The traboules of the Croix-Rousse hill and the famous Lyonnais’s mural’Wednesday 14 March 2007, 14.00 – 16.00 Discover the silk workers district and the renowned traboule passageways of the Croix-Rousse. Visit to the Place des Terreaux, where you will admire the Town Hall, the Fine arts Museum and the Bartholdi's Fountain. The tour ends at the mural of the famous people of Lyon, another way to discover the story of the city through its great personalities. The number of participants for the different tours is limited and registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. All social events are included in the registration fee. Accompanying persons can attend the Conference Dinner at an additional fee.
